Women & Retirement
Women are at greater risk than men of not achieving a financially secure retirement. Societal headwinds such as the gender pay gap, time out of the workforce for parenting and caregiving, and lesser access to employer benefits, make it even more difficult for women to save and invest for the future. Statistically, women live longer than men, which means they need to save even more for retirement.
For almost two decades, Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies has annually conducted surveys, research, and educational outreach to raise awareness of the issues faced by women and provide recommendations for improving their short-term and long-term retirement outlook.
