The 12th Annual Transamerica Retirement Survey finds that employers in the U.S. are beginning to show renewed signs of confidence in both the economy and their companies’ financial outlook. Fewer employers report downsizing and layoffs in the last year – and more report positive signs of growth including hiring additional employees. These positive indicators also translate into an increase in employers enhancing their retirement benefits as well as reinstating benefits (e.g., 401(k) matching contributions) that had been suspended since the Great Recession began.

The Employer's Perspective on Retirement Benefits and Planning is an in-depth research report featuring multi-year trend analysis of employers' attitudes, commitment, and offering of retirement benefits and plan features. It sheds light on their experience before, during, and in the wake of the Great Recession.

The report is based on findings from the 12th Annual Transamerica Retirement Survey which interviewed more than 700 employers in 2011.
