Many retirees are financially vulnerable. A 2018 retirement survey conducted by Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies finds only 18% are very confident they will be able to maintain a comfortable lifestyle throughout retirement. The same survey found that many of these retirees retired early due to unforeseen circumstances and before they were financially ready.
