Only 69% of rural residents describe their health as being in “excellent” or “good," which is significantly fewer than what is reported by urban (80%) and suburban (78%) residents.
Left Behind: Health Care in Rural America is a research report that illuminates the health and health care-related risks among rural residents. It provides in-depth findings and recommendations for the general public, employers, and policymakers.
The report based on a survey of 3,760 U.S. residents aged 18 to 64 that was conducted in 2019.
