A worker's level of education influences their employment opportunities, compensation and benefits, and even their future retirement.

Educational Matters: The Impact of Educational Attainment on Workers' Retirement Outlook examines workers' retirement expectations, access to workplace retirement benefits, and savings-related behaviors. The research report is based on survey findings that reveal profound differences among those with a high school diploma, some college, a college degree, and post-graduate work. The research also found important opportunities to help all workers learn more about saving and investing for retirement. Lastly, this report makes recommendations for workers, outreach initiatives, and public policy for improving retirement security.

The report is based on the 11th Annual Transamerica Retirement Survey which included more than 3,500 workers. It was conducted between December 2009 and January 2010.
