The LGBTQ+ community has unique circumstances that influence how they plan and live their lives. Historically, the have experienced discrimination and structural barriers negatively impacting their freedom, health and financial well-being, employment, and retirement security. Today, while many such obstacles have been addressed, the LGBTQ+ must remain vigilant in planning for long, healthy, and financially secure lives.

Transamerica Institute and Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies conduct research and surveys exploring the life experience of the LGBTQ+ amid an evolving societal landscape. The research gain a greater understanding of the issues faced, specific vulnerabilities, and potential opportunities for enhancing their life experience, short-term financial situation, and their long-term retirement outlook.
