About the Transamerica Institute
The Transamerica Institute is a nonprofit, private foundation dedicated to identifying, researching and educating the public about retirement, health coverage, and other relevant financial issues facing Americans today. It is comprised of two research centers: the Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies and the Transamerica Center for Health Studies. Its mission is to help educate and empower people to make informed decisions about important matters that can improve their health and wealth.
The Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies (TCRS) is dedicated to educating the American public on trends, issues, and opportunities related to saving and planning for retirement and achieving financial security in retirement. TCRS engages the American public by offering a comprehensive website, publishing research findings, giving actionable recommendations through media articles, and collaborating with industry groups and organizations who share a similar passion for improving the retirement outlook for all Americans. TCRS generates educational tips, often featured in print and broadcast media outlets across the United States, to help Americans achieve financial security in retirement.
The second research center, the Transamerica Center for Health Studies (TCHS), informs the national health care conversation by bringing clarity to the complex decision-making regarding health coverage and personal health and wellness. Through its broad-based analysis and research findings, TCHS offers consumers and employers a guide to navigate the financial implications of the health care decisions they are facing.
The Transamerica Institute’s research and outreach is based on the premise that there is no such thing as an “average American” and that all Americans deserve the opportunity to secure their futures through education and financial empowerment. The Institute is funded by contributions from Transamerica Life Insurance Company and its affiliates and may receive funds from unaffiliated third parties.
